About Us

Honoring Tradition while Embracing Innovation

We are proud to be a third-generation, family-owned ranch! Ward Burbridge purchased the property in 1956, and thus established the ranch under the Burbridge name. Ward passed on in 2011, leaving the ranch to his son, Elmer (Buckshot) Burbridge. Buckshot then established "BC & Daughters Farm & Ranch" with his wife Carolyn. One of his daughters, Candy Burbridge (That's me!), created KC Burbridge Ranch in 2023. We proudly announce that we now own the ranch, and plan to continue building on Ward's original dream.

Our Story

Hi There! I'm Candy Burbridge. I grew up helping my Dad and Grandpa work the ranch. I moved away to study for my dream career. I met and fell in love with my partner Kris during this time. Together, we talked, dreamed, and planned for a future on the ranch...someday. Unfortunately, someday came sooner than any of us would have liked, first with the passing of our patriarch, Ward, and then a few years later, Grandma (Elma). We returned to Nucla in 2018 to help our new patriarch, Buckshot, run the ranch.

This year, we were finally able to buy the property from Buckshot and Carolyn, allowing Buckshot to retire and have the freedom to go to Montana to visit two of his other daughters, Carrie and Melissa, and their families!

Candy's Bio:

I grew up in Nucla, Colorado. I worked the ranch with my Grandpa and Dad until I was 18. During that time, I attended Nucla Elementary, Naturita Middle School, and Nucla High School, graduating in 1998. I joined  "RiverWatch" in middle school, finding my love for water. I attended Colorado Mountain College and studied Natural Resource Management. After graduation in 2001, I was hired by Eagle River Water and Sanitation District in Vail. I stayed with ERWSD for 17 years, building on my knowledge of wastewater and learning how to run small treatment facilities. After my Grandma passed away, Kris and I moved back to Nucla to help my Dad run the ranch. I also took the difficult step of creating my own business (Burbridge Operations, LLC). BOp's has been in operation since 2018. Website coming soon! Over the last four years, Kris, my Dad, and I have been working very hard to grow the Burbridge name and improve the ranch. I am proud to say that we are now at a place where we can offer top-quality products to our loyal customers! I want to take this time to thank everyone who has helped me and my family grow and share our products with you!

Kris's Bio:

Hi all! Im Kris. I grew up in Grand Junction, Colorado, with my parents and sister. I met Candy in 2007, and we got married in 2009. Over the years, I have held many jobs, from road construction to security. I attended Colorado Mountain College's CLETA program, receiving my POST certification in 2013. I also attended The University Of Phoenix, studying Criminal Justice, and South University, studying Business Administration. I currently work as a volunteer EMR for NNFD/EMS, and I plan to attend EMT school soon! If its not clear yet, I love to learn! I started helping the Burbridge family on the ranch when Candy and I met (I'm pretty sure that's why she fell in love with me). I have brought some outsider knowledge to the team, and I help keep our eyes on the big picture. I love working with all the animals here and hope to be more useful with our hay process someday. Unfortunately, I am allergic to hay (I know, ironic, right?).

I'm looking forward to the future with this business and seeing how we grow and improve! I'm so excited to share this journey with all of you!

BC & Daughters Farm & Ranch's Bio:

It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to buck and Carolyn. They have decided not to join us in our venture. We wish them all the luck and happiness in the world.

Shadow's Bio:

Hello, my friends! I am Shadow, Head of Ranch Security, Service animal for my Daddy, and the best girl ever! If one of my hoomans is out, it's a good bet that I am running around somewhere. I take pride in my territory and will protect it until the end! I don't usually get along with other dogs, so if you wouldn't mind leaving your best friends in your vehicle or at home, that would be amazing! I love to meet new people, and little hoomans are my favorite! I enjoy playing, running around, checking on my critters, and getting up to no good (only a little, though). I would be more than happy to accompany you for a tour of the place or present my butt and ask for scratches!

Now that you have met everyone, we would like to go over a few ranch rules:

We believe in being kind to others, regardless of the kind of day you are having.

We believe in being kind to animals. If you are caught abusing an animal in our place, you will be asked to leave.

We don't believe in judging people; everyone is different, and that's what makes you unique.

We operate off of the honor system; please don't be the one who ruins it for everyone else.

Please be respectful while you are here, and we will do the same.

This is a safe place for ourselves and our customers; we will ask you to leave if you threaten that.

We are LGBTQ+ friendly!
