HAY
Our hay is a perfect blend of Paiute and Potomac orchard grasses, with a touch of alfalfa to add a sweet element for the animals. We chose this mixture because it is one of the most durable types of grass, which also offers one of the highest protein contents that can be found. This blend ensures that your animals will be satisfied quicker and have plenty of nutrition without having to consume a lot more hay.
As a team, we are dedicated to making sure that you, as the customer, are happy with the products you purchase from us. We spend as much time as we can walking the field, inspecting dry spots, checking for weeds, observing how the grass is growing and responding to the environment, and many more things. And, of course, our head of ranch security accompanies us every time. Shadow's specialties include keeping the field clear of undesirable critters and sniffing the hay. We don't know what she is looking for, but she gives her approval!

BEEF
We are currently in the process of obtaining all the necessary licenses and certifications to sell our beef as USDA-certified. At present, we are offering beef for sale from our ranch. Please contact us for more information. We have our beef processed at a USDA-certified facility, D&M Meats. More information on them can be found at www.dmmeats.com. We offer whole, half, quarter, and eighth options. We will soon also be offering our beef by the cut!
Our cattle are a mixture of Hereford, Angus, and Limousine breeds, resulting in narrower, longer, and slightly smaller calves at birth. This makes the birthing process much easier for both the mother and baby. However, the calves do not stay small for long. We ensure that the mothers receive sufficient food and nutrients to produce enough milk for their calves while keeping themselves healthy. Our cows are very active, walking every day to get water, food, and pellet treats. During the winter months, they live in the same field where we produce our top-quality hay. Additionally, we use their waste as a natural fertilizer for our hay in the spring, providing added benefits. In spring, after the snow melts, we relocate our herd to our summer pasture, which is situated at the base of the Lone Cone mountain. Before moving them, we conduct a thorough health inspection. We administer an antibiotic to prevent infection after branding, but we do not use antibiotics unless the animals are ill. Additionally, we wait at least six months after administering a vaccine before processing the animals.
We take pride in our herd and spend as much time as possible with them. Our cattle are so calm that they do not startle easily when we are around. We spend time with each individual cow and calf so that they are more likely to stay calm and trust us when we need to work with them. We talk to the cows so often that we probably look a bit crazy from the outside looking in. Shadow, our trusty assistant, has helped us bottle-raise two and a half calves and always accompanies us when checking on the herd. She sniffs every cow and helps the mothers keep an eye on their calves. Our top priority is to ensure that our cows are safe, happy, and healthy.
